About The Customer
Graubard Miller is a mid-sized legal firm based in the Chrysler Building in New York City. The firm has been in business since 1948 and its primary practice areas include corporate and securities law, litigation, real estate, trusts and estates, employment, intellectual property, and taxation. A focus on innovation and efficiencies has enabled the firm to offer a level of legal representation associated with much larger firms without the high costs. The transactional nature of legal services means that availability and performance are paramount to the business. The firm's director of technology, Steven Heller, applies the company culture of innovation and efficiency to IT operations.
The Challenge
Graubard Miller, a mid-sized legal firm based in New York City, was in need of a more cost-effective and reliable disaster recovery (DR) solution. The firm had a DR solution in place, a physical co-location site, but it was neither reliable nor cost-effective. The maintenance of the co-location DR solution was overwhelming with many manual steps required to do a refresh. Moreover, there was no cost-effective way to do DR testing, making reliability a constant question mark. The firm's director of technology, Steven Heller, began to investigate using cloud for disaster recovery. He investigated multiple cloud-based DR solutions before deciding to go with iland.
The Solution
Heller decided to go with iland's DRaaS with Zerto & Double-Take solution. The solution was chosen for its proven cost-effectiveness, ease of use, and ability to protect both physical and virtual machines. The visibility and monitoring capability of the iland console was a big plus for Heller, allowing him to manage the testing process, monitor replication, and quickly spot any errors. The solution also delivered beyond the required levels of security and compliance, with Heller appreciating the built-in advanced security features on the iland cloud platform. The solution was configured and up and running in under 8 hours, thanks to the support and guidance of the iland support and engineering team.

Engine Informática offers SAP software as a service with IBM
Engine Informática, a Brazil-based company specializing in the implementation of SAP ERP solutions, identified a gap in the market for small and medium-sized companies. The company realized that the fixed infrastructure investment needed to run SAP 24/7, such as data centers, hardware, and support, meant that the per-user cost could be perceived as too high for smaller companies. The challenge was to reduce or eliminate the capital expenditures and implementation costs as much as possible to help reduce the barriers to entry for these smaller companies.

IBM social business software connects and empowers employees for competitive advantage
Superior Group, a company providing workforce productivity solutions, found that its employees worldwide felt disconnected from headquarters, regional offices and each other due to outdated internal communication and collaboration tools. The company's intranet had become a top-down affair with little staff involvement, and employees lacked effective tools for anywhere/anytime communications. Those working remotely had limited access to co-workers and company apps. The main method of collaboration was inefficient email, challenging IT staff to manage a growing store of attachments. These factors inhibited the company from achieving its productivity goals.
